About
Cyprus University of Technology (“CUT”) is a newly established, state university in Cyprus. It was founded by law in 2004, and accepted its first students in September 2007.
CUT aspires to become a modern, innovative and pioneering university with international recognition that promotes excellence in education and research in cutting-edge areas with scientific, technological and economic impact for the betterment of Cyprus, the European Union and the world.
CUT is a dynamic university with six faculties and 13 academic departments, offering academic degree programs both in undergraduate and postgraduate (MA, MSc, PhD) levels in the following fields: Engineering and Technology, Management and Economics, Health Sciences, Geotechnical Sciences and Environmental Management, Communication and Media Studies, Fine and Applied Arts.
CUT research and academic staff is involved in more than 340 projects with a total funding/ contribution over 50m euro. The research projects are funded under the HORIZON2020, the FP7, the ERASMUS+ and Lifelong Learning Programme, the National Framework Programmes of the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation, the European Territorial Cooperation Programmes (INTERREG), the COST Programme, the LIFE+, the EUROSTARS, etc.
The international orientation of the University is reflected in its track record of collaborations with world leading research and educational organisations and also in the opportunities offered to students and staff through its active participation in mobility and exchange programmes, including Erasmus+ and IAESTE.
The University is housed in renovated historic as well as modern buildings within and around the old historical city centre of Limassol. The presence of the University has converted and continuously upgraded the traditional town centre into a youthful, creative and vibrant part the city. Limassol is a safe destination which has much to offer, with its beautiful seafronts, countless cultural, recreational and leisure activities, as well as exciting events and festivals.
