ITESO boasts high academic standards at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. For the second consecutive year, the Public Education Secretary (SEP) has granted the university, the Institutes of Higher Education Award for Quality Programs. This indicates that over 90% of its students are enrolled in accredited degree course offerings. ITESO is the first university from Jalisco to receive the Academic Excellence register by the SEP, and to offer graduate programs of excellence recognized by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) and the Mexican Society for the Public Communication of Science and Technology (SOMEDICYT). Of all the private universities in the state of Jalisco, ITESO has the greatest number of professors in the National System of Researchers (SNI), the greatest number of books published, as well as an outstanding library.
