The main concept put into design of postgraduate programs at MIET lies in providing high level theoretical knowledge and interdisciplinary links, in ensuring the practical skills together with basic approach, in permanent refining the processes of formation and evaluation of professional and personal competences. “Micro- and Nanoelectronics” and “RF Devices and Units” are training directions of priority. According to new federal educational standards the postgraduate degrees are as follow: Master (prerequisite: Bachelor degree) and PhD (prerequisite: Master or Specialist degree). 24 MSc/MA programs form 2 courses: Electronics and Nanoelectronics, Informatics and Computer Science. There are 7 PhD courses such as Physics; Chemistry; Informatics and Computer Science; Electronics, Radio Engineering and Telecommunications; Photonics, Machinery, Optical and Bioengineering Systems and Technologies; Economics; Philosophy, Ethics and Religious studies. Duration of training: MSc/MA – 2 academic years, PhD – 3 years. Currently degrees of Specialist and Candidate of Science (prerequisite: Master or Specialist degree) are available. The degree of Doctor of Science (prerequisite: Candidate of Science or a PhD degree) is the highest. There are 17 Candidate of Science and 10 Doctor of Science specialties.
