About
In 1999, SIMAD was established as an institute of higher learning to foster academic excellence. After 11 years of consistent success and achievements, the Board of Trustees upgraded the institute into a full-fledged university on January 20, 2011.
We constantly strive to create a friendly learning environment with plenty of facilities including technologically equipped classrooms, high-tech computer laboratories with internet facilities and well-stocked library. The culture and experience of SIMAD UNIVERSITY have played an important role in the professional and personal development of our students.
Strategic Goals
The university strives to achieve the following strategic goals:
• To provide the highest quality academic and professional programs at all levels.
• To develop and disseminate contemporary learning techniques and models in a supportive academic environment.
• To enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the learners, developing them into great scholars and effective leaders of tomorrow.
• To facilitate scholarly research and scientific studies in various areas that address national issues.
• To serve as a specialized center for training, research, and consultancy in Somalia.
Philosophy and Values
Our philosophy is based on the moral teachings and values of the Islamic civilization which is intended to produce committed citizens who give back to their community. SIMAD University believes in fostering lifelong learning with the pursuit of knowledge and skills in an atmosphere of support, guidance, free inquiry and expression. The university is also dedicated to the promotion of peaceful co-existence between people who profess different ideologies, values and cultures. SIMAD is committed to the following core values:
