Mission: The University of the Amazon, the State institution of higher education on the national agenda, created by Act 60 of 1982 to contribute especially to the development of the Amazon region, is committed to the formation of an ideal human talent to meet the challenges of the third millennium through a quality, comprehensive and democratic, undergraduate education , postgraduate and continuing, it conducive to its scientific basis, develop their investigative skills, stimulate their links in the solution of regional and national issues and strengthen values that promote ethics, solidarity, coexistence and social justice. Vision: The University of the Amazon will be an institution of higher education in permanent accreditation recognized and leading social construction, appropriation, adaptation, implementation and dissemination of academic, scientific, investigative processes and community outreach; preferably aimed at the pursuit of sustainable human development of the Amazon region, committed and articulated to the consolidation of the project of nation referred to in the Constitution.
