The Universidad del Caribe -Republica Dominicana is found in the capital of the Dominican Republic, SantoDomingo. It was founded in 1995, and the educational model of the university isbased on sustainability, entrepreneurship, innovation, and inclusivity.
The university has fourfaculties, offering both graduate and postgraduate courses: Business,Humanities, Legal Sciences and Policies, and Technology. The mission of theuniversity is to train ethical, competent, innovative and committedprofessionals in the development of their environment, through an updated andinclusive model of distance education with highly qualified teachers.
Santo Domingo is the capitaland largest city of the Dominican Republic, and the largest metropolitan areaby population in the Caribbean. It is is the oldest continuously inhabitedEuropean settlement in the Americas, and houses the Catedral Santa Maria LaMenor, the first cathedral of the Americas.
Culture and the performing artsare very important in Santo Domingo. The city has its own symphonic orchestra,chamber orchestra, opera company, ballet company, folkloric company, andnational theater. It enjoys a tropical climate with average yearly temperaturesof 25.9 degrees celsius (78.6 degrees fahrenheit).
