Universidad Nacional de Salta

Based in Salta, Argentina, the National University of Salta is approaching its 50th year in existence, having first been founded in 1972. Home to 20,000 students, the institution consists of six subdivisions. These are:

• Economic Sciences
• Engineering
• Exacts Sciences
• Health Science
• Humanities
• Natural Sciences

Salta is located to the northwest of the country, and is the second most-populated city in the area. Students moving here can expect summer temperatures of around 20ºC and winter temperatures of close to 11ºC. A major tourist destination, international students will find plenty to fill their spare time, particularly if they’re interested in the city’s historical artefacts and architecture.

Spanish students, in particular, will find the city reminiscent of home, with the city featuring many similarities to Andalucia. The local culture blends both Spanish and indigenous traditions, creating a distinctive yet familiar environment.
