The University of Witwatersrand (Wits) offers a wide range of postgraduate courses in English, from bachelor’s degrees through to PhDs.
Tuition fees vary by degree program and nationality.
Postgraduate funding is available and awarded on the basis of academic merit, including the postgraduate merit award, a scholarship given to deserving postgraduate students by the university in exchange for up to nine hours spent working for your department each week, and the National Research Foundation (NRF), which is awarded by the South African government to exceptional projects in the natural sciences and engineering, social sciences and humanities.
Entry requirements at postgraduate level include an upper second class bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject. At PhD level, you will need a good master’s degree and to have approached a supervisor from the relevant faculty.
