Vyatka State University

 Students' Scientific Society contributes to involving in research work undergraduates and post-graduates, who are regular participants and winners of international, all-Russia and regional competitions, contests, olympiads and exhibitions in different subjects.There are some amateur dancing and music groups and clubs such as a choir and a drama club, which arrange concerts, performances and theatre productions. Vyatka State University  is also an important cultural center of the city. The mission of the university is to promote priority development of the Kirov region by forming regional brainpower, scientific-innovative and business environment.

The development of the university is closely connected with the development of regional industry, which determined the choice of the university’s priority development fields: biotechnology and biopharmaceutics, ecological technologies and systems, artificial intelligence and big data, engineering and end-to-end technologies, economics and finance, new material, pedagogy and outstanding people, modern humanitarian technologies.

Strategic objectives of the flagship university:

1. To create knowledge producing infrastructure.

2. To modernize the university’s educational activities in favor of the real economy and social sphere.

3. To form business competencies in the academic setting.

4. To build the university’s awareness and integration into the international academic environment.

5. To create and develop an interdisciplinary research center in the fields of pharmaceutical biotechnology; polymeric materials; environmental technologies and systems, biological resources.

6. To develop the socio-cultural environment of the region.

The university has a well-developed infrastructure: 23 educational buildings, dormitories, a sports complex, a swimming pool, a library, centers of excellence and centers of competence, an engineering center, research and educational centers, research laboratories and small innovative enterprises.
