Yury Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov (SSTU) Founded in 1930 among the first technical higher schools in the USSR (As the Automobile & Road Construction Institute), today is one of the leading technical universities in Russia, it is a flagship university of the Volga Region, offers Bachelor, Master, Ph.D. education in more than 165 fields of studies. It is one of the leading universities for the information technologies and software engineering, robotics, nanoelectronics, applied physics & chemistry, machine building, civil engineering, artchitechture & design, oil and gas engineering, urban construction, ecology, power engineering, nuclear stations engineering, social & industrial management, social studies & humanities, economics, finances. In 2020 SSTU has more 17 000 students.
Since 1993 SSTU is involved in active international activities. Due to the active academic and research cooperation SSTU has developed stable collaboration with the research centers & universities in Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, UK, Spain, The Netherlands, Ireland, India, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, BeloRussia.
Today SSTU has about 600 international students from 32 countries. SSTU has EU ERASMUS projects including ERASMUS mobility.
The university has unique research achievements, high-tech educational and information environment, international recognition and established cultural traditions. It can rightly be considered an innovative university, in which teaching and science are inseparable. One of the first Techno-parks in the country was transformed into scientific achievements in high technologies. SSTU scientists involve students who receive awards and diplomas from international and all-Russian competitions and contests from year to year, participate in international and federal grants.
