A list of training fields is extensive: 27 fields of Master’s training in petroleum engineering, offshore drilling, geosteering, geology, mechanical engineering, chemical technology, techno-sphere safety, transportation processes, civil engineering and construction, and other fields. IUT  realizes  also programs  of  short-term  traineeships  for  Master’s  degree  and  post  graduate  students  according  to request of university partners (including programs conducted in English language).There are 6 programs of Doctoral studies realized at IUT. The young scientists of the University take part in the implementation of the scientific-and-technical programs and grants at the federal level, as well as in the scientific-research and experimental design works as per order of industrial enterprises and unions. The main customers of the University are the petroleum complex enterprises, including: "Transneft", "Gazprom", "LUKOIL", "Schlumberger", "Rosneft" and others. The University has patented more than 850 inventions; there is also some experience in their introduction.
