North-Western State Medical University named after Mechnikov

In the North-Western state medical university named after I.I. Mechnikov more thank 870 educational programs are offered in frames of further professional or postgraduate education among the programs:

• the ones of the further training: from 16 to 500 hours in frames of the life long lasting medical education;
• the ones of the professional requalifiquation: from 288 to 500 hours (for specailists with a profile education at the upper-secondary level) and more than 500 hours (for those who have already got higher education in medicne or pharmacy);
• professional educational program for getting the nurse assistant position: 432 hours + certificate in the end of the course.
• professional educational programs on State and Municipal management in healthcare system.

The further professional education takes place on seven faculties:

1. Faculty of surgery (surgery, anesthesiology, plastic surgery, cardiovascular surgery, urology, ophthalmology, endoscopy, orthopedics and etc.)
2. Faculty of general medicine (internal medicine, eldercare, otorhinolaryngology, medical psychology, forensic medicine, pharmacy, thoracic surgery, and etc.)
3. Faculty of physical therapy (physotherapy, sexology, cardiology, pulmonology, rheumatology, physical therapy, family medicine, infectious diseases, neurology,  and etc.)
4. Faculty of dentistry (children dentistry, orthodontics, dental surgery, and etc.)
5. Bio-medical faculty (clinical mycology, x-ray diagnostics, medical diagnosis, philosophy, and etc.)
6. Faculty of preventive medicine (toxicology, hygiene, management in healthcare, epidemiology, parasitology, and etc.)
7. Paediatrics faculty (midwifery, gynecology, children's neuropathology, children's syrgery, neonatology, women's reproduction health, and etc.).
