The Norwegian Film School offers a three-year full-time artistic education for filmmakers.

Students considering NFS choose to apply to one of nine Bachelor of Fine Arts programmes:

Six students are admitted to each BFA discipline every two years, and over the course of their studies they receive a combination of intensive training in their own discipline, a thorough understanding of the principles of “dramaturgy” (storytelling) and “cinematurgy” (audio-visual storytelling), film history, philosophy of art as well as participating in a number of production exercises involving all seven disciplines in teams set by the School.

The goal of the program is to educate and train highly qualified artist-practitioners in film, television and related media to cultivate, disseminate and renew moving-image arts, crafts, and entertainment, in their respective specialisations and in the Norwegian film industry as a whole.
