Senghor University, establishment private 3rd cycle recognized international public utility, was officially opened November 4, 1990, Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt; Abdou Diouf, President of the Republic of Senegal; François Mitterrand, President of the French Republic; Mobutu Sese Seko, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the former President Léopold Sédar Senghor, the presence of the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Belgium.

Senghor University, direct Operator of the Francophonie, offer, for over 20 years , multidisciplinary and multi-thematic training on sustainable development in a globalized world. It aims to train and develop high-level executives from public and private sectors and to direct their skills to the exercise of responsibilities in priority areas for development.
