Currently, the Silesian University in Opava has three faculties – the Faculty of Philosophy and Science in Opava, the School of Business Administration in Karvina, the Faculty of Public Policies in Opava – and the Institute of Mathematics in Opava. The faculties offer interested parties several dozen bachelor´s, master´s and doctoral degree programs, but can not forget the seventeen year old activities in education of the University of the Third Age. In the academic year 2012/2013, number of students in all parts of the Silesian University in Opava, exceeded the number of eight thousand.
