The University of Passo Fundo (UPF), the university of our community, was founded 46 years ago and it is one of the most important universities in the North of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Its practices are committed to the regional population, promoting a process of education which involves quality, science and ethics of its graduates. Thus, the university focus on the qualification of its faculty, enabling the generation and spread of knowledge. Mission: To create and disseminate knowledge so as to enhance the improvement of life quality of the community as well as the education of competent citizens, with critical, ethical and humanist attitude, able to act in order to transform society. Quality Indicators: Teaching, research and extension are the three pillars at UPF. The teaching process seeks to explore and provoke different interactions between students and syllabus. It aims at the promotion of academic knowledge, professional education, innovation and the development of the region. Through research, UPF is engaged in the search of problem solutions, which benefit our community. Concerning extension, it develops social and cultural practices involving its faculty, staff, students and the community, creating a vivid scenario which covers several thematic areas.
