François Rabelais University is ranked in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2018 for medicine, but the institution is academically strong in other subject areas too. Other subjects taught at undergraduate level include modern languages, journalism, geography, marketing and law.

Scholarships are available for studying at the university and they are awarded on merit and social criteria.
