The University of Canterbury | Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha (UC) is one of the leading research universities in New Zealand. UC has produced a number of well-known graduates who have impacted the world we live in today and become leaders in their field. Today, UC graduates are well-known for their willingness and capacity to have an impact in their chosen endeavour. By nurturing a spirit of inquiry, UC challenges its students to explore their chosen academic pursuit and venture into unfamiliar fields of knowledge and learning. UC graduates are bi-culturally aware, employable, entrepreneurial, global citizens that contribute to their communities, New Zealand, and internationally with an ethos of making difference.
UC is structured around five Colleges:Arts; Business and Law; Education, Health and Human Development; Science; andEngineering. Each College balances a commitment to innovation and research witha reputation for academic and teaching excellence. UC offers a wide range ofpost-graduate qualifications ranging between vocational taught Master’sprogrammes through to doctoral research all of which are recognised worldwide. UCpost-graduates go on to high-calibre employment in business, Government, andNGO sectors, while other graduates are accepted into prestigious universityprogrammes and secure research and teaching positions around the world.
