University of Neuchâtel

The University of Neuchatel offers Bachelor and Master degrees in line with the Bologna agreement, as well as Doctoral programmes. The language of instruction at the University of Neuchatel is French, with the exception of modern languages (in English, German or Spanish) and of some Master courses/programmes (in English). Master degree: The second cycle of basic higher education, the Master degree (university 'maîtrise'), corresponds to 90 or 120 ECTS credits (obtained, in theory, over 3 or 4 semesters), and intensifies the scientific understanding of the discipline. Students at this level may also profit from the opportunity to engage in contemporary research. The Master degree is a prerequisite for doctoral study. On obtaining a Master degree, students may undertake research leading to a PhD from the University of Neuchâtel.
