”Vasile Goldi?” Western University of Arad

Founded in 1990, “Vasile Goldis” Western University of Arad has become, in the 22 years that have since elapsed, a stronghold of science and culture in Arad, Transylvania and the euro-region, having been integrated into the European Research and Education Areas, as a member of the European University Association – EUA, the “Carolus Magnus” European Consortium, the Danube Rectors’ Conference, the Association of Carpathian Region Universities (ACRU), the Alliance of Universities for Democracy (AUDEM), holding the vice-presidency of FEDE – the European Federation of Higher Schools, a participative body of the Council of Europe. Under the aegis of the Senate, the integration of scientific research with higher education is secured by increasing the quality of academic activities in a multidisciplinary, innovative and multicultural dimension, carried out in veritable laboratories of scientific research and development: the Institute for Life Sciences, the PLUSEGO Psycho-pedagogical Counseling Center, the Center for Social Research and Public Surveys, the Center for Judaic Studies, the Center for Research on the Literature of Tudor Arghezi, the “Ioan Slavici” Center for Research on Literary History and Theory, the Romanian – Brazilian Center and the Italian Cultural Center.
