Today Irkutsk National Research Technical University offers 57 full-time Master’s programs and 48 PhD programs that fully meet students demand. Candidates choose from a variety of programs taught in Russian, English and double degree programs.
English-taught programs include:

The list of programs is expending annually. One of the Irkutsk National Research Technical University’s strategic aims is its Master’s program development. INRTU strives to create more than educational programs but an environment inspiring and encouraging towards the learning process. Advantages of Master’s and PhD programs embody popular specializations, brilliant teaching staff which includes a joint team of lecturers from Russia, Europe and Asia, partnership with leading foreign universities, teaching in English, modern teaching techniques, such as cross-disciplinary cases, master classes, discussions, project-based learning, group project works and.
The University possesses a well-developed research infrastructure comprising research and training laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment, excellent library with more than 1 500 000 items, a number of corporate training centers, centers of shared use etc to enable its postgraduate students to carry out research activities.
To apply to a postgraduate program candidates should send a list of required documents for initial expertise, which includes:
- application form (available on the website http://www.istu.edu/apply/);
- an international passport copy;
- a copy of education certificate including an appendix with grades and a notarized English (or Russian) translation.
The deadline for submitting documents is 20th of August.
Candidates who submitted applications for Master’s programs take one entrance exams: a specialized computer test.
Students who submitted applications for PhD programs take two exams: exam in major subject depending on a chosen field of study and an exam in English.
Tuition for English-taught programs varies from 3 100 to 3 500 USD per year. Russian-taught programs cost between 2 500 to 3 100 USD per year.
