INRTU offers 65 full-time master's degree programs and 54 options for doctoral candidates at 8 Schools: School of High Technologies; School of Aircraft Construction, Mechanical Engineering and Transport; School of Power Engineering; School of Mining and Subsurface Resource Management; School of Architecture, Construction and Design; School of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication; School of Economics, Management and Law; Baikal School of BRICS.

The University possesses a well-developed research infrastructure comprising research and training laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment, excellent library with more than 1 500 000 items, a number of corporate training centers, centers of shared use etc to enable its postgraduate students to carry out research activities.
